SEAGULLS OVER GHANA -ARTICLE FROM FATHER JIM SMITH IN GHANA

It’s a hot and dusty day on my mission base in Ghana – a long way from the cold winds blowing around the Amex in December. All around in the streets young men and women are chanting ” Manchester United”. (Anyone heard of them?)

But from inside our base, the brand new ” Seagulls over Ghana” group are chanting ” Albion Albion! ”

This began because one of the seagulls we often see in the Amex decided on a quick flight to Africa. It landed in Ghana and so we founded “Seagulls over Ghana”. Myself and Paul, my base leader, are the founder members, and Paul is now proudly wearing his tee-shirt with our logo on it and I text him from the matches at the Amex. Membership so far is 2! But with a little effort and a few more souvenirs I am confident that we can push it up to  – 3!

You just can’t keep a good team down. Seagulls!
